It's been a while since I posted anything so I thought I'd share this photo I took of a cardinal during our big snow storm last week. We got a little over a foot of snow. This poor guy had a little bit of trouble. He had been perched on a stump of a weed underneath my bird feeder and when he hopped down to get some of the bird seed on the ground, he disappeared into the snow! He was able to fly out, though.
I find it interesting that in horrible weather (snow, rain, storms) is when the birds are most active at the feeders. Even though the cardinal is our state bird and they are here daily I see more woodpeckers then any other bird.
ReplyDeleteI see an occasional woodpecker but it's the cardinals I see much more often. There was a woodpecker at my feeder last week during the big snowstorm. I love how the bright red cardinals stand out against the bright white snow, but I'm so tired of snow that I wish we were done with it!
