Since it's so cold in most parts of the country, I thought I'd share a nice "warm" photo that I took at Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC back in April. I wish it was that warm now! (Currently, it's 24 with a wind chill of 10--brrrrr!!!!)

Kitty Update

It's been a while since I share a photo of my kitties. They're getting big. Here's a picture of Houdini and Freckles taking it easy:

 

I got scratched really badly by Houdini last night. He got scared when I was holding him and he squirmed to get down. I have two deep scratched that look like someone slashed me with a knife. Ow!!! They are being bad kitties today. They got into things and got into areas they shouldn't have. I'm not happy with them right now. I don't know what I'll find when I get home because they got down into my basement right before I left for work this afternoon and I just left them there with a litter box. Hopefully I won't find a mess when I get home.

Chincoteague, VA and Ocean City, MD

I'm working on a special photo project and wanted to get some photos of the ocean so I took a trip this weekend to the Atlantic Coast.  I stayed overnight in Ocean City, MD and had a beachfront room with a great view of the ocean. I hated to leave! It was a lot of traveling for one weekend but it is worth it even though I'm exhausted.

Night Photography

I bought a book on photographing the night sky and I went out to my friend's house outside of town to take some photos last night. I think they came out great for the first attempt. The sky was clear and it was beautiful.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

Minnesota, September 2014

I had a fun vacation in Minnesota Last week. Although the highlight of my trip was seeing my friend Sara Renner in concert and having lunch with her on Saturday, we saw some beautiful sights. The drive along the North Shore of Lake Superior was beautiful. It was cold up there but the beautiful scenery made up for that! If you click on each photo, it will open up a larger version.

Supermoon September 2014

Thought I'd share a photo of the almost full "supermoon" that I took on Sunday. It was nice and clear Sunday night so I took pictures then. We've had some cloudy days since then so at least I got something even though it's not quite a full moon. Close enough! I took this with a 1.4x teleconverter along with my 500mm zoom lens.
