Winter Birds
Here are a few more photos of the birds at my feeder that I took the same day as the cardinal photo.
Don, I think it is a song sparrow. I had to check to make sure. Check out this web site: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/song_sparrow/id and scroll down to the section on field marks. I checked the Carolina wren and that has more solid colors. I think this is a sparrow. It spent a good part of the afternoon hunkered down at the feeder. I guess the feeder protected it from the wind. That bird feeder is nice but too many starlings got at the suet. It's got a suet feeder on both ends but I don't feel like feeding starlings.
Interesting feeder with the suet feeders on the sides. Do you have an idea what type of bird the bottom picture is? Is it a Carolina wren?
