Full Moon

Here's a great shot that I took of the full moon a little while ago. I had to wait a little while for some clouds to disappear but it was worth the wait. I invested in a 300 mm zoom lens last year. One reason was to get better moon shots.

  2. Hi Margie, Beautiful shot of the moon. I told Dwane last night that it looked like a "camping moon" to me. We enjoy sitting out at night by the campfire just watching the moon over the lake. Hope you are feeling much better. I saw you comments on the earlier thread to Don. There's something about that first shower after surgery that feels soooo good! I haven't been able to check in from the office. Since our recent email problems, just about all "non-work related" computer traffic is blocked. I'll try to check in from home as often as possible. Take care. Gwen :)

  3. Hey Gwen and AJ! Thanks for checking in on my blog. I was beginning to think it was just going to be Don and me. Gwen, I bet the moon over the lake is beautiful. I've been feeling better the past couple days. I'm on less pain meds so that's nice. I'm glad I got out to photograph the moon last night. I'm glad you folks enjoy my photos. Keep checking back for more! Margie

  4. As of this morning the baby geese population is up to 19. There are still two other moms that are still sitting on their nests that I know of. Last year we had 33 babies.

  5. Don, I bet it's fun watching those little baby geese. I hope the birds of prey don't get too many of them.

  6. The hawks get the baby ducks but not the geese. Baby geese have mom and dad with them all the time. Baby ducks only have mom. Dad takes off after he fertilizes the eggs and mom leaves the babies alone to goeat. Last year the hawks got all the baby ducks but three.

  7. Hello again. Thought I'd join the conversation on the baby geese. We see geese at Lake Okatibbee. I love to watch the whole family as they swim together in a row....mom, dad and babies. Margie, if you will email me your cell number, I'll send you a text message with a picture I took with my phone last Saturday. There was a fog over the lake and it was just gorgeous. I also love your picture of Lake Habeeb. I'll bet now would be a super picture from that same spot with the hills turning green. I look forward to more of your photos. Will check in later. Gwen :)

    1. Gwen, I sent an e-mail to your home e-mail with my cell number. I'm looking forward to seeing your picture! It's great that you can watch the geese too. I bet the little ones are adorable. I live in town so I have no wildlife around except for the usual sparrows, robins, etc. Take care, Margie

  8. When the baby geese are a couple weeks old I put out corn on the cob. It's really interesting seeing how mom and dad teach the babies how to eat the corn. They haven't a clue. I was on the patio before watching the baby geese and a baby otter came out of the pond.
