My dad died very suddenly on Tuesday and his funeral was yesterday. It was also Flag Day yesterday. My dad was a proud Marine who loved to fly his flag so I thought it would be great to honor him one last time by flying his flag on the day of his funeral. I'll miss my dad very much.
Every time you see a flag, think of dad. I had a flag pole installed when I lived in NJ and flew the flag everyday and thought of my dad. When I was about five years old my dad taught me to raise the flag on the pole at our summer house. That became my "job" everyday
ReplyDeleteI will do that, Don. I have a small flag that's on a flag pole that's attached to the post on my front porch so I'll be thinking of my dad a lot when I see that flag. He took such great care of his. Displaying the flag is serious business and my dad was serious about it.
